Formech 2440

Featuring intuitive ‘FCV’ (Formech Cycle View) user interface with a 10” touch-screen, Formech’s 2440 represents a breakthrough in easy to use large format vacuum forming. Particularly well suited to Signage, Point of Sale, Film and Theatre Set Design, Automotive and Aerospace applications the 2440 provides ultra-fast response with energy efficient quartz heaters and accurate heat profiling with 48 zones. Dual 400litre vacuum tanks enables instantaneous vacuum for excellent definition with the most demanding applications whilst 4 high output fans provide rapid cooling to speed up cycle times. 40 nameable memory presets enable convenient recall of settings for each application. Electric heater drive with pneumatic table and pneumatically assisted clamping make light work of large applications, whilst the intuitive control system makes the 2440 highly approachable for operators of all skill levels.

10" Colour HMI/PLC featuring Formech Cycle View (FCV)

Wago control system with 10" colour touch screen, real time adjustments, 1% heater increment control, Formech Cycle View and 40 preset memories.

Quartz Heaters with Variable Standby

Quartz heaters have the benefit of a rapid response and high efficiency resulting in time and energy savings.

48 Independently Controllable Heating Zones

48 heating zones and quartz heaters provides rapid heat response with a greater range of control to form challenging shapes and materials

Electric Heater Drive

Electrically powered heater travel for convenient operation. Controlled speed and braking prevents damage to elements.

Pneumatic and Manual Clamping

Initial stage 1 pneumatic clamping with two additional manual clamps at the front of the frame.

Pneumatic Table with Rack and Pinion

The table is either pulled up from above (semi–auto) or pushed up from below (auto). The rack and pinion maintains horizontal table travel when more than one table cylinder is used.

Table Height Adjust

Table height adjust shortens the tool table travel when using shallow tools and reduces cycle time.

Pre-Stretch

Pre-stretch enables the user to pump air into the heated sheet, creating a bubble to avoid thinning of material with deeper tools.

Auto-Level

Avoids material sag during the heating cycle and maintains an even distance between heater and sheet whilst providing the user with an audible indication the material is ready to form.

Vacuum Receiver Tanks

Two vacuum tanks that provide instant stored vacuum, for high demanding materials and shortening cycle times.

Vacuum & Pressure Gauges

A visual indication of consistent vacuum and pressure being applied (pressure in Hg / bar).

Four Cooling Fans

Overhead gantry and four 550W fans to cool formed material and shorten cycles times.

Reduces forming area to utilise smaller sheets of material and minimise wastage. Standard or custom size.

Heating Pyrometer

Sensor to provide accurate sheet temperature feedback and send heaters back upon reaching target temperature (except on the 686 and 1372 where it gives a digital readout). Emergency air storage tank supplies cooling continuity on shut-down to protect pyrometer.

Cooling Bolster

A water cooled plate to directly cool and regulate aluminium tool temperature for consistent and faster cycle times.

Vacuum Flow Regulator

Precisely regulates vacuum flow rate when a greater level of control is required with demanding applications.

Multi User Pin Access Control

The supervisor of the machine can choose and determine a level of access for the different operators.
